DUNEDIGITAL
Twenty years as a graphic designer. Five disciplines under one roof — design, publishing, photography, copywriting and web design, with photography and copywriting outsourced to trusted specialists and managed by me so nothing is lost between them. Consider this site the proof of work.
01 — In practice
Twenty years of making things that are meant to be looked at.
Dune Digital is the name I put on my own work in 2016. Before that, and every day since, I have been a graphic designer: identity systems, editorial layout, and print that has to survive a press run.
Two decades in, the practice has widened rather than narrowed. I publish books, design and build websites and apps, and commission photography and copywriting from trusted specialists — all of it managed and finished under one hand. One point of contact, five disciplines, nothing lost in a handover.

02 — Disciplines
Five disciplines, one pair of hands at the centre of them.
Design, publishing and web work are made here; photography and copywriting are outsourced to trusted specialists and managed by me, so everything sits seamlessly inside the wider project. One person is accountable for all of it.

03 — The collaboration
Designed by hand. Built on the latest technology.
This site is the demonstration piece. I art-directed the surface, with twenty years of practice behind me; underneath, the latest web technologies keep it fast and easy to update, so a build like this takes days rather than the months it used to.
That is the offer: I carry a brand from a mark on paper to a live website, with nothing lost in the handover.
What I directed
- Art direction and concept
- Typography and type system
- Photography and image selection
- The words on every page
- Pacing, rhythm and the narrative order
What the technology handles
- A fast, current site
- The enquiry form and where it lands
- Hosting and delivery, handled
- One build that also ships as an app
04 — How it runs
Four steps, and you always know where the work stands.
Enquire
Send a few lines about what you are making and what has gone wrong with it so far. No brief required, no form-filling marathon.
Define
Scope, sequence and a fixed fee are agreed before anything is drawn. You know what arrives, and when, and what it costs.
Create
Design, photography, copy, code, or all of them together — made from the same desk by the same hand. You see the work in progress rather than one dramatic reveal at the end.
Deliver
Print-ready files, web-ready assets, source documents and a short guide to using them. Everything is yours to keep and reuse.
05 — The studio
One designer, twenty years in — I stay close to the work, and close to the people I do it for.
I have worked as a graphic designer since the early 2000s and registered Dune Digital in 2014 so the work had a name on it. In that time I have designed brands for small businesses, laid out books, and — more recently — designed and built websites and apps. Photography and copywriting I outsource to trusted specialists, then manage and finish here so they read as part of the same hand.
I keep the practice deliberately small. You speak to the person doing the design and the person managing every other part of the job — they are the same person. You see the work as it is made, and you get the files at the end. Every project is made that way.
Good design is not decoration. It is the shortest distance between what you mean and what someone else understands.
- Direct contact — no account managers, no relay
- Fixed scope and fixed fee, agreed before work starts
- Design, image and text decided together, not bolted on
- Source files handed over at the end, always
- Image and text, held to the same standard
06 — Selected work
A decade of websites, designed and built.
Every site below was art-directed and designed here at the studio, from first sketch to launch.
07 — Testimonials
What it is like to work together.
A few words from the people on the other side of the project — in their words, not mine.
Eileen took a pile of half-finished ideas and gave them one voice. The site finally sounds like us, and I can send people to it without explaining anything first.
